Description

This volume contain the reports on events in 1857 is submitted in 1858 by commissioner of divisions and District officers to Mr.R Montgomery, judicial commissioner and punjab, also a reprint of the " Punjab Mutiny records" which has been incluted for convenience of reference. Mr Montgomery's report, complied for the report of Commissioners and District officers, reached the Cheif Commissioner of the Punjab, sir J. Laurence in March 1858, and was submitted to the Government of india with a Narrative and comments by sir J. Laurence dated the 25th of May 1858 from Mr. R. Temple, who was the secretray to the Cheif Commissioner. It may be noted that the name of the persons and place have been spelt as in the original manuscript.
