Description
The Trial of Bahadur Shah Zafar Emperor of Hindustan II took place in 1857 after the Indian Rebellion of 1857. He was charged with "conspiracy against the British government" and "abetting mutiny" and was found guilty. He was exiled to Rangoon, where he died in 1862. The trial was widely criticized for being unfair and unjust, and it marked the end of the Mughal dynasty and the beginning of British rule in India.
