DESCRIPTION

He was bom in 1775 and suceeded to the title in 1837. Bahadur Shah was virtually a pensioner of the East India Company and his authority was limited to his palace. On 11 May he accepted the leadership of the rebels and was proclaimed Emperor of Hindustan.
