Fig. 106: LUDLOW CASTLE, photograph by Robert and Harriet Tytler, 1858. Ludlow Castle served as the Residency for Thomas Metcalfe and his successor until 1857. The building seems to have escaped serious damage in 1857. British Library, London, Photo 193/(7).
