                  With references te the letter ef the Gevernment ef India, in the Secret Department, Ne. 84, dated 27th Decemher 1872, I am directed by the Duke of Argyll to forward, for the information of  His Excellency the Vicerey, copy of a letter addressed by His Grace’s erders te the Under-Secretary ef State for Foreign Affairs, dated 8th January 1873, respecting Feroze  Shah, son of  the ex-King ef Delhi.

                      IN reply to your letter of the 4th  November 1872, with enclosures, relating to the residence ef Feroze Shah, a member of the late Royal family of Delhi at Constantinople, I am instructed by the Duke of Argyll to state, for the information of Lord -Granville, that His Grace does not consider it to be. expedient to take my measures against the suspected persen, unless it should appear that, whlilst under the protection of the Porte, he has been engaged in any intrigues, hestile to the British Government in India.
