Petition to Emperor Bahadur Shah Zafar by Firuz Shah (Karim us Shuja) and other 64 Royal Princes Protesting their Removal from Imperial Red Fort
(Dated last Quarter of 1852)
Your Majesty, the Shelter of the World, be Healthy.
After Greeting,
As your luminous presence is bright and shining over us, the Urdu news of Delhi, Lahore and others had reported clearly, that at the time of Crown Prince Bahadur's (Mirza Fath Ul-Mulk) assuming the Kingship he will no longer reside in the blessed Palace (Red Imperial Fort/Castle in Delhi) and it will be prepared for storage or magazine. The new Palace or residence of the new King will be near the area of Hazrat Khawjah Qutbuddin of Delhi. The only people to reaside and accompany the Bahadur (Mirza Fateh Al-Mulk) will be some of his close relatives only. The arrangement for livelihood and removal of the remaining royal relatives from the Palace (Red Imperial Fort/Castle) will be concluded by the English Government Bahadur individually and separately to each of the Sulateens, and pay them the nominal pension for their lifetime only.
Upon hearing this news, the disaster fell upon the family of the Timurids. Their day has become black as the dark night, and these miserable uncertain circumstances have made them unable to eat, drink or sleep easily, especially the women.
Never has any tyrant ruler taken such a destructive oppression and destruction towards us (Timurid Royal Family) except the English Bahadur. While we and our families instead have taken all and special care cooperating and facilitating the administration of the agreements with the English Bahadur and their agents at all times, so the rule of law, tranquility, and prosperity may be achieved. No wrongdoing ever committed from us toward any one or whoever might be. Meanwhile they purposely did not take action and looked aside, closing their eyes when our rights were violated and our income and properties were confiscated.
The English Bahadur has been known for being very generous in allotment to all types of fevers in many incidents and circumstances, especially for their allies. They have not failed to spread modern systems and methods towards them. The chiefs and nobles of these families have been given all the comfort, honor in money, land, subsidy and recognition.
What about this family (Timurid Royal Family) and our powerful Kings who have ruled the people in moderation from the beginning. They have never had such an outright violation to anyone. In spite of aggression and hostility shown by others they have practiced the highest level of patience and justices. They even had forgived number of Indian rulers who had revolted or been involved in corruption, confrontation and assassination.
Pity and a hundred pity with all of our good deeds toward the English Company. They have only harmed us, depriving us of moderation, greatness, glory, high ambition, expansion. We have not violated any laws from the beginning until now. And only with satisfaction, we have never taken the path of rebellion and deviation. They are practicing all kinds of harm toward us. They are destroying our homes and houses without any crime or negligence and throwing us in difficult situations.
When the Fort will be evacuated it will affect two thousand souls that are living here and they will become homeless. The English Company agent who will take charge of the fort and will occupy it is a man of ability and resources and has made himself a reputation of spending wealth on many causes. This officer of the English Company Bahador has so made for himself much property, wealth. It will not be difficult for him to exercise his power to settle hundreds of people.
Therefore your Majesty may have pity and mercy on our situation. God bears witness that hearing the news of our destruction and displacement, the soul is not left in our body. If the English Company Agent Bahadur kills us all at once or throws us into the sea instead of this outright aggression that will result in:
First, It will be a clear act of insult and aggression on all of us (Timuid Family) when we will lose our status, respect and self motivation. we will not have any of our privileges when we change our residence from the fort.
Second, We will suffer a great loss of thousands of rupees that all of us have already spent on their mansions and houses in the fort.
Third, To rebuild we require an abundance of loans, and when our income will be used to repay the lender. It will affect our daily life and for some it will result in poverty.
Fourth, Our unity in front of the public will affect our status. as inside the castle, our joy and sorrow, disorder and misery that we have as a family will become public. In our wedding and other ceremonial gatherings the lack of tolerance in the eyes of other public will become talk of town resulting in disrespect of the royal status.
Fifth, Because many of us will not be able to buy a house on loan as well as live, due to the many financial problems and livelihood challenges. He will not be able to rent and will end up in unsuitable places for the family to live.
Sixth, Even if arrangements have been made to accommodate two thousand (2,000) people, and they have the financial power, it is still impossible to find places to live in a city to buy or rent.
Seventh, Due to widespread current news circulating among the public and private circles regarding the financial and status evaluation of each member of the Royal Timurid Family will unnecessarily expose our inability to master any common profession and our financial position has affected our daily living. This will also result in our ability to help any member of the public.Wrong news will spread that the members of Royal Timurid Family are involved in unlawful activities to provide for the upkeep of their families resulting in a bad reputation for all of us. If this happens no one from the elite reputed family will tolerate it. Till date no such unlawful activities have occurred , and the Royal Timurid Family has not violated any law or taken any act of defiance. How the Company Bahadur allows such wrongful doings toward us.
How can we live? This is related to the greatness of the royal family in the eyes of the general and special people, the worst things can be. A single hand of the rulers of the predecessors and successors for the members of the family also .the head has not also prescribed
It is not a secret that from the beginning of leadership until now, The people of the Timurid family have not done anything contrary to the method and sincerity of solidarity with the noble people of English Bahador, which has caused such a violation and the rulers of justice should prescribe a special praise for these helpless people and not think of their notoriety, because prescribing contrary to the covenants and promises without the appearance of such erroneous affairs is very wrong and ugly. Past rulers is his reason), according to the livelihood.
There is no doubt that from the offering in the (Anarollah Borhanch) era of Hazrat Ferdows (H.M.‘Abdu’llah Jalal ud-din Abu’l Muzaffar Hamiud-din Mohamm3d ‘Ali Gauhar ,Shah-i-‘Alam II Sahib-i-Qiran Padshah-i-Ghazi, Emperor of Hindustan 1760 -1806), historically known as Shah Alam II, was the sixteenth Mughal Emperor and the son of Alamgir II. He is also known as Firdaus Manzil. Shah Alam II became the emperor of a crumbling Mughal empire. (The light of Allah on of the entire Timurid generation and the enthronement of the monarchy during The caliphate of Hazrat Ferdows (Ayatollah Borhaneh) has been established and the treaty has been written by the people of Ankriz Bahadur, including all its members. Therefore, it is rave that the real appointment was not made due to the negligence of the royal servants. After long period of time, during the reign of Hazrat Ethereal tomb (Taba Allah Sarah) The high ranking supervisors of the province did not respond in line with the denial of the Covenant, but the excuse of not acting on the said bail and the sufficiency of one rupee lak, it created a problem for us. At that time, The members of The royal family wrote that the old Dension should be done at the base. capability and contentment.
It is enough that the delegated property is Secretly in the possession of the Ankarizi Control and government officials, and due to the good order of the high-ranking rulers, it is increasing day by day. And there are probably more than a few dozen regulations.Nevertheless, , in order to upgrade the ranks of glory and pleasure its majestic inhabitants will be appointed to the permanent position of the government official.Despite this, the prescription was found to be so small that it is a means of mass subsistence.during life Eyes and Sublime efforts began appointing slaves without The will to return them and the property of the delegate is at Very customary way of enslavement.
It is far from the way of justice.Especially if you give each of the other directors a property and a place that has come under The authority of Sarkar Ankrizi and has exchanged it for each gold for each property Owner and given to them and their heirs still receive it.As the Trustees of these properties Nawab shoja-Al-Dawlah Bahador. The late Amin Al-Daulah.The late Nawab Saadat Alikhan Bahder and others. all from Ankarizi's officers find more and from year to year and season to Season.
Regardless of this, without any exchange of property, whatever has been prescribed for the children of the chiefs from the special Ankariz officer in terms of durability, no difference has emerged.
It is not clear why such a prescription is against justice and fairness for this Poor group.
How long, after all, can we tell you about the distress, the confusion, the tragedy, the regrets, and hearing the news that frightens us?
We hope that the special attention given to the Amin Al-Daula Bahador on the understanding of the meaning of which court this news was ordered from. And after receiving the truth of the present and the investigation of the court in this regard, it should be issued from the Holy Presence and a proper figure, so that this inappropriate matter can be stopped. Because a wise presence does not help us. helpless people.
We are confident that the high-ranking Sulatenns, if they prescribe this, will prescribe a deliberate cessation of the occurrence of Our ruin and destruction through the abundance of Justice and their high nature, whoever does not like the special benefit and loss and the general duty, and if this ruling is abrogated, the perfection of justice and fairness of the rulers of justice will finally be known around the City and the country.it was to say this.
Hope receive this petition favorably and may the Sun of the Sultanate Shine forever.
