The Mughals were never shy in fighting naval battles and this is evident in Eastern and Western waters in the time of Jahangir and Aurangzeb. These naval warfares have been detailed on the basis of available sources. Some may, however, object to the term 'naval warfare' in that age in India as Colomb observes,". . . .
