Description
The Muntakababu-T Tawarikh, of Al-Badaoni (1540-1615), completed shortly before his death in A. D. 1615, written as it is in a spirit of disgust against the eclecticism of emperor Akbar and his two close associates, namely, Faisl and Abul Fazljn particular, for their having breached Islamic orthodoxy, a dissatisfaction having been further heightened in its biting invectives against them by author’s growing sense of frustration to get his proper dues at the hands of his master in the field of material advancement, happily in the sum-total of its effects acts as a necessary corrective to and a brake against the over-laudatory panegyric of Abul Fazal’s Akbamilma.
