Description
Fezleke is written in a simple style and in a language that is not burdensome. It can be said that this feature is due to the author's tendency to seek the truth and express his purpose clearly. The fact that Katib Çelebi sometimes went to extremes while abandoning the literary skills and emotional elements in his sources caused his expression to lose its clarity and even make mistakes from time to time.
It was largely quoted by the Fezleke chronicler Naîmâ, who had a significant impact on later historians, and was used as a source by Nişancı Abdi Pasha. Fındıklılı Mehmed Ağa, on the other hand , gave the name Zeyl-i Fezleke to his history, which started from where Kâtib Çelebi left off (Silâhdar, I, 2).
