DESCRIPTION

A Rajasthani style of painting, created on paper using watercolors. The painting shows a group of ladies with a small boy near a tank full of lotus flowers at night. Two among the ladies are burning Phuljharis. Below on the right extreme corner, the old persian script in golden colour reads as H.M. Al-Sultan al-‘Azam wal Khaqan al-Mukarram, Khushru-i-Giti Panah, Abu’l-Fath Nur ud-din Muhammad Jahangir Padshah [Jannat-Maksani], Emperor of Hindustan .In the hut of Shaikh Salim at Fathabad (Fatehpur Sikri), Akbarabad (Agra), 10th September 1569 o.s., as Shahzada Sultan Salim Shah Bahadur, In this painting, the ladies are dressed in ghanghara choli and odhani.
