A peri riding a composite horse surrounded by an acanthus-scroll border. India, possibly Kashmir, ca. 1750-1800. Description:1 single leaf : paper on card, ill. ; 415 x 300 mm Credit: Purchased by J. Pierpont Morgan (1837-1913) in 1911. Genres: Miniatures (Illuminations)--18th century. Paper (fiber product) Cardboard. Single leaves. Notes: Ms. Mughal miniature (possibly from Kashmir); illuminated in the second half of the eighteenth century. Decoration: illuminated border. Miniature measures 210 x 153 mm.
