DESCRIPTION

Interior of Alam Bagh Alam Bagh was a fortified garden at a distance of about two miles from Lucknow on the Kanpur road. The Sepoys put up a stiff fight here on 23 September 1857 to contest the advance of General Outram’s force for the relief of Lucknow. In November when Sir Colin Campbell decided to withdraw from Lucknow he left Outram here with a force of over four thousand men to keep open the road to Kanpur. Gate of Alam Bagh
