DESCRIPTION

On this day in history (30th August, 1773), the Maratha Peshwa Narayan Rao was assassinated by his own palace guards. According to legend, his final words were "Kaka! Mala Vachva!!" ("Uncle! Save me!"). But nobody came to his aid and he was killed in the presence of his uncle. It has been suspected that his very own uncle Raghunathrao, the son of Peshwa Bajirao was behind the assassination. it unleashed a civil war that was followed by the first Anglo Maratha war.

MUGHAL IMAGES

The Mughal Images immediately took a much greater interest in realistic portraiture than was typical of Persian miniatures. Animals and plants were the main subject of many miniatures for albums and were more realistically depicted. To upload your images click here.
