DESCRIPTION

On this day (23rd of July 1555), the Timurid/Mughal Emperor Humayun once again ascends to the throne of Delhi after defeating the Afghan Suri's, restoring Mughal rule over North Hindustan. "When messages reached Humayun from Sikandar Uzbek, who had advanced to Delhi without opposition, he earnestly urged the emperor to pursue his advantages, and to repair to the capital without loss of time. Humayun accordingly put his troops in motion, and on the 23rd of July, 15 years after he was chased out of the city by Sher Shah, he once more ascended on the throne of Delhi in the imperial city. MUGHAL IMAGES

The Mughal Images immediately took a much greater interest in realistic portraiture than was typical of Persian miniatures. Animals and plants were the main subject of many miniatures for albums and were more realistically depicted. To upload your images click here.
