Surround in Persian Script: nastaʻlīq Notes: Ms. Mughal illumination; written and illuminated between 1588 and 1605. Artist: Āqā Riżā (Āqā Riz̤āʼi ʻAbbāsī); who is identified in the inscription. The surround is from a manuscript;it is an unidentified Persian quatrain. MICROFILM holding is on record for MS M.458.1r. Provenance: Ḥusain Khān Shāmlū (d. 1618) and possibly his son, Ḥasan Khān; purchased by J. Pierpont Morgan (1837-1913) from Charles Hercules Read in 1911; J.P. Morgan (1867-1943).
