Early 19th century photograph of Isa Khan’s Tomb depicting a complete finial on both the dome and the canopies, and the Humayun's tomb in the back. 

During British rule, the tomb and its enclosure was crowded with village huts and the garden around Humayun's Tomb was used for cultivation. In 1905, the tomb was taken over by the Archaeological Department for its restoration and subsequent works of its conservation.
