Fig. 132: SUPREME COURT BUILDING, designed by architect Ganesh Bhikaji Deolalikar. The construction of the Supreme Court of India was one of the biggest contributions to the Indian political system. Built on a triangular plot of 17 acres, design of the building is in the shape of a balance with a pair of Scales of Justice. The Supreme Court commenced its sittings in the Chamber of Princes in the Parliament House in 1950 until it acquired its present premises in August 1958. Press Information Bureau, New Delhi
