It has been generally the practice of the scholars and historians to study the history of any particular period or of those personalities who somehow came to the lime light by securing political poser. But those who, in spite of_their undoubted merits, failed somehow to come to the power, have been allowed to be lost in obscurity and none feels inclined to put them in their proper place. The sis of the present work is to review the career of such a character in proper historical perspectives.
